In the Milton Ulladulla District, Wandarma AECG has been built on community, inclusion and mutual respect.
At its inception in the 1980s, Aunty Nellie Mooney, Jan Alam and Cheryle Hughes worked hard to engage schools, families and community partners to support the educational outcomes for First Nations children & their families in our community.
“Under the concrete and asphalt, this land always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.”
Aunty Nellie Mooney was born in Nowra and her language group is Tharawal and Dhurga.
Aunty Nell was a founding member of the Wandarma Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG), the Ulladulla Local Aboriginal Land Council, the Aboriginal Homework Centre and the Aboriginal Medical Service in Nowra. She is an honourary Life Member of the AECG.

AECG stands for Aboriginal Education Consultative Group.
The NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc. is a non-profit Aboriginal organisation that provides advice on all matters relevant to education and training with the mandate that this advice represents the Aboriginal community viewpoint.
