Ulladulla Civic Centre
Aboriginal Revitalisation Project
A community-led project
The Ulladulla Civic Centre Aboriginal Revitalisation Project creates a strong Aboriginal cultural aspect in our town’s central meeting place and improvements to the amenity of the grounds with new picnic areas, accessible pathways and interactive places for play and learning.
The flat grounds at ngulla (safe harbour) have always been places of ceremony, meeting places and camping places since time immemorial. It is possible to honour and restore our cultural knowledge and practices today and do so to benefit the whole community.
This is a community-led project. The Concept was developed by volunteers, led by the vision of Uncle Vic Channell of Murramarang Bagan Cultural Education and volunteers from Walking Together in the Milton Ulladulla District, with Egle Janulionyte Landscape Design, Community Connect Southern Shoalhaven and FRRR, and Elders and community leaders who provided input.
How can you show your support?
Please email us if you would like to view a copy of the Concept Plan.
This is a community-led project. Please reach out if you would like to contribute your time, skills, expertise, or cultural knowledge.
We are receiving Letters of Support and warmly encourage you to consider providing your own Letter of Support or feedback. We are grateful to all individuals and organisations who have already provided strong letters of support, including Wandarma Local AECG, the Ulladulla Local Aboriginal Land Council, and Elders including Uncle Paul Jrumpinjinbah McLeod.
“I applaud the efforts made by Victor and his support team to bring this proposal forward in our communal interests of helping Country to be fully healthy again.” Yuin Elder Paul Jrumpinjinbah McLeod, 16th February 2025
